Hey

Best things to change are

- Longer stem 100mm ish

- good brakes help

- gearing 22 front - 18 back, you could just run a normal cassette and der at the back like Ryan Leech.

That's all you need to learn the basics.

Hi Cameron, I live and ride up in Hilton.

I'm still in two minds. Peach let me ride his Inspired Fourplay (amazing) (Thanks again Peach!). Even though I only rode it for a little while before running out of steam, I'm hooked - really waaaant to get one.

I am going to be traveling overseas to the UK in June this year. Peach told me about Pink Bike. I have checked the site out and there are bikes like Peach's for 450-600 Pounds. I could pick up a really awesome bike that side for a fraction of the cost. Just have to wait though. Although saying that, I've just checked and there are 120 trials bikes in the UK for sale, so there is a huge market to choose from compared to here  .

Trying to do the rear wheel hop on my MTB, eish it's hard but all the more practice can only help. I manage a one/maybe two wheel hop so far once in a blue moon  .

Anyway, Cameron, where do you stay? We must go for a ride sometime??

Prices are much cheaper than here, I think waiting is the best option, some of the extra cash can be spent on awesome upgrades.

Hey guys, We'll be riding in Pmb the weekend of 26 April, pm peach for the details. It will be awesome if we have a decent group ride!!

Most of the SA riders started on converted DJ bikes, they are heavier and harder to ride but are also bomb proof, so awesome to learn on!

Ps: for those of you waiting for a response from Dylan, I have some bad news. He had a big crash at the argus, broke both thumbs, hurt his shoulder etc. so im not sure when he'll be back at work...

That weekend is the Provincial champs for KZN XCO, DH and Enduro.

If we get a bunch of guys there we could have an official but unofficial KZN champ

Oh, yes, just checked them out now. That is a bonus!! The Inspired Element looks really nice but quite a lot of piggies to break open.

What's the opinion on building a trials bike using a DJ frame, is the geometry suitable??

Nope, a trial bike's geometry is totally different, I have a Giant STP dirt jumper and a Onza Zoot dual disc trial bike, 2 totally different bikes, can't compare

Dirt jumper weight more ore less 13-14kg

My trials 11.5kg

BIG DIFFERENCE

Cheers

Chris

STP is an awesome bike, can easily be used as a street trials bike. Jeff lenosky has been riding the STP for years(still is riding one) and there is very few people in the world that can compare to him.

Id rather go for a street trial build, much more versatile than a pure trials bike and can still do exactly the same as you would on trials bike

I had exactly the same model as this one, wasn't heavy at all
