Did the 35km in 2013. Flat, fast and very little mud. Only where you turned back south after the strech along the railway line, and inside Dunblane, almost at the finish. Did Serengeti in 2013, when it was dry, and the swimming portion made me decide to forego entry in 2014. Dunblane was MUCH better. There is a dusty section between the mielies in the east which might be muddy after lots of rain, but lets hope. Long-term shows big rains on Monday only.

I wanted to do this one. But after Sabie and the cost of my bike service, you wont find me in the mud again.

I did it. Very muddy, but only real problem was a section in the mielie fields but there were patches of slippery mud everywhere so you had to pick lines carefully and think.

Not the muddiest race I've done but the mud was easy compared to the trek across the grass on the loop inside the estate at the end .... I hate riding on wet grasss!!!!!

Sounds like it was quite reasonable. My morning went something like this -

I woke up this morning and it was raining and pouring

but after Sabie by drivetrain can't take another mauling

Dunblane sounded like a pain

so I got out of bed and did Groenkloof instead!
