Guess I'll have to start a new thread "What GPS heartrate monitor device to buy"

Wait for the new V800 from Polar. Should be available in May.

Dont wait for silly polars, pick up a lekker second hand no fuss garmin 500. Both my folks have them and are able to use them with ease and the uploading is simple unlike there rather retarded previous polars. We could not even give away 6 month old polars that cost R2.5k.

But yes, there are some awesome time splits on strava for Argus, I did better on both the first 50km and last 50km this year regardless of wind.

I don't know Garmin products. I've used polar for the past 10 years without any issues. Saw the new one at the expo, and it's really looking good.

I have another requirement. Don't know if the new BMW's still have this feature but back in the days you could tell the car the distance you're going to travel and how late you want to be there, and then the computer would tell you 'based on your current speed, if you're going to make it on time'.

I need that feature in my GPS heartrate monitor as well. Does the V800/Garmin have such a feature?

I see the V800 comes as a watch. This Argus had to tape my RS800CX to my handlebars since after 4 years the watch could not stand the abuse of strapping it everytime as tight as possible around the handlebar.

Would be great if you had a pod that you could attaced the V800 to on your bike and then unclip to wear as a watch.

.. another requirement.

Sounds like you need a garmin forerunner. It can switch between wrist mount and bike mount. (No need to strap to handle bar).

You can also set a course, (Like the argus on you forerunner you can set a goal time) and it tells you if you are behind or in front.
