Topeak and Songo on the Ti's. (Ti's are if you're VERY weight conscious like Christoph.)

Most of the others on the Race....some had the normal S Tracks as backup pedals...so they might have been used too.

What is the weight of the Ti pair?

I completed the 2014 Cape Epic with zero punctures. Tyres I used were Fast Tracks. My partner punctured 3 times on Stage 4 with his Schwalbe Racing Ralph's Snakeskins.

Your observations are anecdotal - if 90% of the field were riding Schwalbe (which is probably not far off) and you saw 90% of people with flats riding Schwalbe then those tyres did as well as any others. Same for the derailleurs and cranks.

I never said 90% of field were on Schwalbe. I said lots of guys rode Schwalbe OEM tires and of all the punctures 90% make it 94.2% were on Schwalbe.

I've done a previuos epic on Schwalbe (only front tire) and Crossmark rear. No punctures ever just a burp or 3 on the Schwalbe which had to be pumped again.

Views are my humble observations only

So I LOOKed into these and all the TIME i spent I could not find a functional difference between the S_Track and ATAC.

The replacable external and nternal parts is a nice feature but looking at those bits its unlikely any of those will suffer massive damage unless they are being use for aggressive trail riding I ama interested in a set but they seem to have similar platform size to the Eggbeaters
