I see Maxxis Crossmark tubeless are R750 at Cajees near Eastgate .... isn't that taking the art of 'ripping the ring out of it' a bit far??

Try motorbike tyres. Bicycle tyres have a bit more tech in them generally at least.

 

Just picked up a tiny carpenters screw in my back tyre this morning, because my motorbike has tubes (it's a tourer) it cost me 400 odd rondt for a repair at Honda.

A new tyre would have been around R1400, conservatively.

 

I feel violated without the happy ending.
