CCC 25km TTT at Fisantekraal

Just a quick thank-you to City Cycling Club for organizing a great 2 man Team Time Trial at Fisantekraal today.

 

Heading out this morning, the weather could not have been any better. It was a beautiful sunny morning with a gentle 4-7kmh wind from a westerly direction which makes a very pleasant change from a howling south-easter.

 

The race was billed as a 2 man team time trial over a fairly flat 25km circuit with only a few gentle rollers that weren't going to hurt too much.

 

City Cycling Club was well represented as well as the Outriders and a couple of teams from Team Pure Savage and Complete Cyclist.

 

As far as possible the lower seeded pairs started first with the quicker riders starting out last. With a 2 minute gap between the pairs there weren't too many teams passing each other and it worked very well.

 

It was very obvious comparing the difference between the serious TT's on TT specific bikes and those on normal road bikes. The winning average was well over 40kmh.
