  1. Incase anyone needs, the route link that was shared previously only works on the app, here is a web version https://www.strava.com/routes/21090782 Here is the original. https://strava.app.link/lLFs4B0qp0
  2. I agree weight is not the primary gain, I have been on the tubeless road for almost 4 years now, Riding the Schwalbe Pro One 25c comes in at 280g and I only add in 30ml of sealant. I do however clean and replace the sealant every 2 to 3 months. extra maintenance but I get to ride at 5 to 6 bar, and only ever had two cuts that didn't seal. Instead of carrying a spare tube I carry an extra 60ml bottle of sealent and 2 bombs. https://www.schwalbe.com/en/road-reader/schwalbe-pro-one.html The only complaint I have is the price, so keen on trying those Giant tires soon. but also these contis might keep the legendary longevity, which will be a good bonus.
  3. Apologies, yes you are correct, its the Fusion 3 that lasted well.
  4. Hi, I think you are all sorted with tubeless, just thought I would drop a note. I have been on tubeless road for 4 years, been through most of the brands of tyres and sealants. Tyre wise Hutchinson fusion 4 lasts the longest, specialized is the most comfortable grippy, but schwalbe pro one is by far the best tire all round. Sealants. Stans really good keeps the tyres nice and balanced. Schwalbe focused blue is stans with other packaging, Sans race sealent is awesome but needs to be cleaned out every 2 months. Bontrager tlr sealent gets my vote as all round best. Seals better than stans at high pressure and lasts longer. Word of note: as soon as the sealant gets hard and old.. you have to clean it out. And it's a mission to get off the inside of the tyres. The hard sealant messes with the balance of the road tyres at high speeds. Solution is to ride allot so you wear out the tyre before the sealent drys. For cuts I use eaither tyre boots from sportsmen's warehouse. Or really well stuck on tube patches. Never had luck with the worms. All the best
  5. I totally agree, best is very subjective. just because they give great coffee and scones at the reception does not make for a good wheel builder. I just want a wheel with the correct spoke tensions and fairly straight.Because my larger frame of 100kgs seems to highlight incorrect spoke tensions really quickly. :-P
  6. Hi everyone, I am looking for a wheel builder, but the topic hasn't been active for two years.. any updates info ? Preferably someone close to west coast or cape town city.
  7. "No matter how you look at it, the bottom line is this - You pay R600, just to start off with you get - an Ftech shirt (worth at least R500), Your CSA licence (R195). In my books that on it's own is a negative figure for them if you can add up..." That's if you get your Ftech Shirt.. I joined on the 10th Feb .. Still nothing from them..
  8. May I ask how did they take it from you ? bike-jack ?
  9. The link doesn't work for me. .Could you post a link to the page please
  10. P.S overall, my review of these tires and tubeless thus far is great.. Punctures seal, even at my higher Pressures and weight + less sealant then recommended. Comfort or the ride is improved, grip also feels better/safer and i am more confident. then i was on GP4000s's Weight seem one half dozen of a another.. (aka no benefit or disadvantage) My setup Rider 87kgs Shimano Ultegra Road Wheelset 6700 Hutchinson Fusion 3 tires 110 psi 25ml Stans sealant in each tire
  11. The No more snakebite's is a myth.. I am still running my tubeless tyres with 100/110PSI Hit a cat eye at a decent speed.. snake bite ;-P back tyre On a Tubeless Tyre that means a sidewall cut because the Tyre got jammed between the road and the rim.. CWCycles were great through, gave my ruined tire back to them, didn't expect anything to come of it, But Hutchinson replaced the Tyre, big kudos to Hutchinson and CWCycles :-)
  12. @Jonkie How much FRM sealant have you got in the tyres ? also would you mind sharing your weight ? I am 88kg, is 85psi for light weights ?
  13. Woofie your experience sounds bad, really scary.. I just put on my tubeless tyres, road without any rim strips or sealant for a day.. But the rear tyre valve was leaking so added Stans sealant today.. Anyone know how much I should use? I went with 25 ml (half a small bottle in each tyre? enough? or not really ? Running Shamino Ultreaga 6700 rims with Hutchison Fusion 3 tyres. Normal pressure for now 110 psi rear + 100 psi front
