The Reeds to Groenkloof

Hey guys

 

I want to ride to Groenkloof from my house on Saturday, does any body no of any cool routes from The Reeds Centurion to Groenkloof?

 

And is it safe?

I ride from rooihuiskraal most weekends

 

You can hook up with me this Saturday if you want, i have a route that is mostly dirt and about 60kms,

Is that 60km including the trails at Groenkloof?

that includes 1 loop at groenies

and about 700m of climbing

Basically we go down next to oid JHB on the left cross to the right after the golf course (all dirt)

turn right at snake valley on the shoulder in the dirt.

keep on the left all the way riding next to the fence.

then onto the road running in front of Groenies which is tar.

 

Coming back head to Voortrekker monument

left onto old jhb

on the right is a little bit of single track before you hook up with the path taken there.

 

You can add in Ruimte, Samrand and Rooihuiskraal Weg all have nice dirt sections running next to the road which will add anything from 15 to 25kms to the loop

We also use to have a great route around Erasmia Midrand back to Rooihuiskraal we I stayed there...easy 80km route with 1200m of climbing and safe as well, also had an option to add another 25kms around Leeukop if we needed it taking it to 104km and 1490m of climbing

This is good news, my last two rides out have turned out to be very muddy affairs
