NIghtlightning Quadblaast.

I still have my prototype from Eric and 6 years later it still works flawlessly.

My original Blaast is 11years old and the guy who bought it off me is still enjoying it.

but apparently people don't buy quality anymore...

Not really worried about backup tbh. I can work on them myself (have all the tools, or can borrow them) and if an led or driver goes, you can buy pre made stars or drop in units extremely cheaply from the likes of cutter.com.au or deal extreme etc. Just gotta look for the proper bin numbers when you order. Major thing for me would be the battery pack, which I would probably buy separately from the light (you do get that option on some sites)

Sports whatever (locally) are just bringing in the exact lights (down to the brand name) that you can get on any of the Chinese sites. At a far lower cost.

I'll take my chances and pay the price if need be. Local backup is not a deal breaker at all...

I can hook you up with a Nightlightning at below cost. Can help you source a battery and charger for it as well.

Tested the 25w halogen last night in our parking area - decent spread without going bos on lost heat energy. Will have to test it on the trail but imo it makes a brilliant bar light. Would prefer something more powerful on my kip so it goes where I direct it.

Ask the likes of Duncan Hattingh. He may still have his. They rn off any 11.1V to 18V battery pack.

I typically recommend a 14.8V Lipo, 13.2V LiFe or 14.4V Li-ion

Strange that these batteries only last for one season nowadays, I have a 5 year old Sigma PowerLED which still holds a charge for at least 6 x 45min evening rides without any problems, I have to remind myself to charge it sometimes. Not sure yet about the `Extreme lights` cheapy i bought for +/- R500 but so far it has lasted a year and works like a dream and is a much better light than the narrow beam Sigma.

I recommend the Extreme lights very highly but you have to put a grippy tape around your handlebar to mount this more securely.

One of my friends are using the same front light. Tried to get a price on a sigma powerled but it seems that is discontinued. Not sure if there is a new replacement ? Can someone suggest a good alternative or a new model in the sigma range ? Will be using it for doing the Trans baviaans end of this year.
