Hi guys, managed to get my old crown race off quite easy with a hammer and screwdriver. I have a straight steerer fork. I am wanting to put my new corwn race on on but cannot find any pvc piping which fits around the crown race. I have looked everywhere. The crown race for tapered fork is much larger so pvs piping will be easier to find for it. Any other ideas on how i can get my new crown race on ? Please dont suggest to take my fork to the lbs.I am trying to work on my bike in as many places as i can. Please remember its for a straight steerer.

Thanks for the help :)

PVC waste pipe with an ID of 33 and OD of 40 works lekker (this is the white one plumbers often use on small hand wash basins). Get a piece longer than your steerer tube. Put the race in position and with the fork upside down hold one leg of the fork with one hand and the pipe with your other hand. Bring the whole affair down onto a wooden block on the floor enough times and with enough force to seat the race.
