By far the best AM option out there. I've had 5:10s, AM 45's, and Teva....the Mavic's are on a different level. If you're not willing to spend money on these go for the new 5:10 Kestrel, or the new Shimano Enduro shoes. Never really liked the AM45's. The laces are from 1957, and I never really got the shoe to be tight enough. Shoes with ratchet or Boa systems are great: You can tighten or loosen them "the go".
