Magalies Monster's half. The riding at Hakahana can be tough because of the technical / rocky ascents and descents. The climbing there makes your heart race... it's not long steady climbs.. it's steep, nasty climbs (assuming they take the half up the black route & red route climbs - which I don't know if they'll do that).

Half-marathon: Not red, but black, plus a new black....Sublime Trail...need to be strong. Ripper of a down.. What I can say is most of the effort is the first 15km, after that its a great, flowy ride almost entirely on singletrack, with a few tweaks. ..

Hey sliiick. yes for sure. The marathon uses Rinkhals drop-off (which is mostly Line A), but bails before DVD. And Kennel switchback is mostly Line B. So yes again.. Edited by HAKAHANA TRAILS

Is the route elevation for the marathon available yet and how would the terain be?

Rocky, hard dirt road or sand? Say compared to van Gaalen recently.

More ascent than Cullinan, less than Van Gaalens

Bit of rock, lots of hardpack, not much sand. Some loose gravel. Personally I don;t think it's anywhere near as technical as Van G's.

900m Ascent, they took the cement climb out of race when coming back over the ridge, a bargain. The terain is similar to van Gaalen but much better. Definately a race to do.

This event is going to test us. I rode there again on Saturday and it was tough. The climb out of the kloof(red b) is lekker.
