Join us for a mountian biking adventure close to home that's been the secret project of Advendurance.

I'm assuming this will use lots of the new Buffelsdrift MTB Park. Haven't ridden there but have heard good things.

How tough will this one be? 6 days before Berg & Bush so wouldn't want to do ride anything too tough or technical.

Tentatively in.

Yes all of Buffelsdrift mtb park and ARC land etc.

I'd say it's alot like Diamond Rush, with some low down van gaalens downhills and river goodness.

Sounds like it could have been cool...

Pity its the same weekend as 3 Towers

Yip. Wish someone can explain this phenomenon to me. Every year its the same story. Last year was Hakahana and 3Towers.

I agree... 3 Towers is a lekker race that not many people wanna miss why put another race on the same weekend.

Not much planning here me thinks.

I suppose each caters for different people.

VG numbers were piss poor this year unless I missed something somewhere

Also had Monster and Rooiberg on same weekend. The excuse will be that CSA allocates the dates but surely its not done randomly. I think VG was tough enough when it was a Nissan race and folks got scared when it was upgraded to MTN (National) race. Of course I could be wrong but it seems all the Nissan races sell out whilst the MTN races are struggling. This year at Hilton I don't think there was more than 120 riders in the marathon.

Only events inside the same province are made not to overlap, usually...

National events and "A" grade events like TrailSeeker, usually, get preference and don't overlap with other "A" grade events.

There's 52 weekends and 300+ mtb events countrywide, not a easy thing to do, then still add some bigger events like comrades, xterras, 5150's, ironman, road events and other sport weekends and it's very difficult as some dates are all hovering for the following year.

We submit our events with CSA and they communicate the dates, clashes and concerns with us.

Ie. next year Dullstroom will be on the Argus weekend... (btw. - Our calendar about to be released and all Advendurance entries will open end of September for 2015)

I would go to Dullstroom before I go to world funride champs

I will be in for this one and am also doing Curro College next weekend. If I can get the wife to agree I'll also be in for my first Ultra at the Crater. I am also waiting for Wessel to post the race profile first. 115km is nothing until the terrain gets rough.

I dunno about 300 races but my target is 12 a year from next year onward.

But the Argus gets my attention next year I think. I have to do it once and then never again or maybe I must only do it in 2016.

October race booked --- done
