Science in Motion Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Do you guys still need people?Hi Matchstix, thanks for your interest. Yes we do indeed still look for sub-3h and sub-3h30min finishers. Please write me a short E-Mail and I will send you further Information on the requirements and the procedure.
Science in Motion Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Hi All, yes we are Aware that a Cape Argus time is a "soft" criteria, but in our experience are these times in most cases very closely related to the required power output criteria. That being said - unfortunately not in all cases, as conditions, start Group, and the ability to save energy while being in a field may vary. Thus, if your time does not match the criteria hundred percent, but you know from comparison with others that you might fit in, then there is only one way to find out. Contact me and we will test you. Cheers Andreas
Donovan Le Cok Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I did my VO2 max test last night. Andreas is looking for more participants. It is definitely worth your time. The amount you learn and information available is incredible. I will get the results of my VO2 test today.

Science in Motion Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Hey guys, no exchange of information please. We do blind you for a reason. Should you be the matched pair, then you can battle and find it out during the competition time trial. Cheers Andreas
Donovan Le Cok Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Ok. Top secret until after the research.
Science in Motion Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Hi All, we are still looking for 2 'Elite' and more 'Sub-Elite' cyclists. If you can ride a Sub-3 Argus or around 3:30, please contact me for Details. Cheers Andreas
Science in Motion Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Great. Thanks! Looking Forward to having you as a participant. Cheers Andreas
Science in Motion Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Hi All, there are apparently some concerns with regards to the invasiveness of our measurements. We really only do blood sampling of the stress hormones cortisol and catecholamines. We do not do muscle biopsies or core temperature measurements. As this study investigates pacing, we try to interfere as little as possible. Cheers Andreas
Science in Motion Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Hi All, the first three of five 'Elite' Competition Time Trials pairs are matched and will soon start. We are still looking for a view 'Sub-3' and some more 'Sub-3:30' finishers. Please contact me when you are keen to learn about your psycho-physiological pacing skills. Cheers Andreas
Science in Motion Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 Hi All, registration for the Cape Argus has opened and we offer the great opportunity to learn a lot about your psycho-physiologcial pacing skills and your current physical performance state. Please contact me, if you fit the above described criteria. Cheers Andreas
Science in Motion Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Hi All,some cyclists are concerned that they are not in shape yet and thus do not opt to participate. Please remember that participants only have to be within certain criteria and not necessarily on 100% shape. This trials is an option to learn something about yourself and when you are top-fit, then you should do real races.Cheers Andreas
'Dale Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Im considering this and might have some time on my side to participate in this study. What are your deadline(s)?
