I've read about issues with the 32T Raceface being a tight fit on the SLX spider, and spacers needed to make it run clear, and not sure if I can manage a 34T with my legs.

1. Has anyone done this conversion with Rapide 32T, and was there any "tricks" to it?

2. Wonder if it has the same issues in the 32T size touching the spider?

3. How much shorter should the chain be made? Running standard setup on a 2014 Anthem X1.

4. Do I need different chainring bolts too or can I use the existing ones?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I've bought all the parts, but haven't don't the conversion yet. 34 ran fine, although I've been running my 36 for all my training

Did you buy the bolts on their site too or used the bolts from the standard SLX crank?

the chain ring bolts from a 2x crank will be fine for a 1x setup, but I do believe on a shimano SLX crank a 32 ring wont fit....

Running a 32 Monoveloce ring on my 2x XT crankset. The chain lightly touches the tips of the arms of the spider, but I haven't experienced any ill effects after 18 months of use.

Standard bolts from the small Chainring. They were longer (to fit the spacers in). Spacers at the moment (34t or 36t) are just 2mm washers....
