Route profiles: Events and Training

Taking part in events and making sure that one enjoys the event, is greatly determined by one's preparation for the specific event. Preparation for the event should be specific to the event's requirements (sometimes referred to as the modelling of training and/or the specificity of training). So knowing what you are going to do on the day of the event will enhance your experience and possible performance in the event.

Maybe this thread can be utilized to post route specific information about different events. A possible format can be the events name, distance, elevation, total ascent, maximum slope, average slope, Google Earth pic, route profile, GPS files, etc.

It might be a duplication of what is already available on the web, but maybe it will make life a little bit easier for interested Hubbers in finding information.

Just a thought.

EDIT: Alternatively, post links to webpages with name of event mentioned.

Another idea would be to mention the nature of the surface.

50kms on hard pack district roads is very different to 50kms on sandy jeep track.
