I bought a small-sized steel-framed bianchi a while back and am trying to find some components. it's a 022 ishiwata special, a real beauty. I'm looking for a replacement suntour (SR) stem, and Dia Compe rear brake calliper. Saw a guy on supercycling the other day that does restoration of steel-framed bikes but can't for the life of me remember his name. does anyone know where I could possibly source parts?

Keep a constant lookout for vintage groupsets / components for sale here in the Hub Classifieds. These things are scarce, but they do come up on a fairly regular basis. If they do, jump at it.

I'm a bit of a Campagnolo freak, so, I would say try to put together the appropriate period Campy bits and pieces. That is if you want to do an authentic restoration / re-build. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with putting a newer Campy groupset on the frame if you intend to ride it often. Ten speed Campy would then be my recommendation.

As for Shimano, well, I do have that on my mountainbike......

Ps. E-bay is also a possible source. Check it out.

Hi Maj

As CIPPO says, post on the retro thread.

I think the guy your'e thinking of is GLENZITO, but there are a couple of others who buy and sell. Try:

BADSAM

FLASHING PEDALS

Also,maybe you can be more specific;

what length stem?

any model?

what model DiaCompe brake?

: How did the Cannondale work out????
