Hi guys

Can I convert my SLX 3x 9 to a 2 x 10

By only getting new chain rings, cluster, chain, jockey and shifters

All the above are shot and in need of an upgrade and I would like to go with 2x 10

You should be able to.

It sounds like you'll only be keeping the current crank and replacing everything else? You'll probably need to make sure your front mech is compatible with the intended setup.

I've tried that and it worked perfectly on one of my bikes. Go ahead, there's no point in buying an expensive new crank, if you're happy with your current SLX...

I am upgrading from a 3x10 to a 2x10 set up but also want to upgrade my rear derailleur (I found a 2nd hand Sram XO). My bike came with X5 shifters. Will these work with the X0 rear derailleur.

SRAM will work with SRAM. Just make sure the shifter and RD are both 10spd.

I have the following on mine:

x7 shifters - 2x10

SLX 3x10 FD ( which can be set to 2x10

SRAm X9 2x10 crank

DEore Chain

SLX cassette

SRAM XO 10sp RD.

Works perfectly!

works perfectly, just change the blades, sometimes you will need to change both blades as the "jump" between the small and big blades could be too large.

I went from 22, 32 42 to a 24, 36. that is all I changed the rest was just setting up of the FD limit skrews and DR height. Had one issue with the first bug blade I put on in that it needed spacers but then I got a thicker big blade and that was perfect.

You fit the new big blade to the middle blade mounting points and there you go.

Re the different RD and trigers SRAM works with all SRAM 10 speed mix and match.
