  2. Event Name: East Side CritsWhen: 28/05/2023Where: ChloorkopMidrand, GautengCategory: RoadJeremy and CGC have been running with these "Training" events for a while now. They are not official sanctioned events with podium etc. They are however a bunch of fun and riders would drop in from all over Gauteng on a Sunday morning and fit a crit into their morning outride. Although these are not official events with podium etc, CGC and Gauteng are using these Crits as part of their talent identification for SA Youth Road, Time Trial and Criterium Champs that will be taking place in East London in July. With enough rider support or a solid sponsor willing to back the initiative, these will become sanctioned events and a regular on our Gauteng racing calendar. You will find toppies, dads and moms doing the C batch with the younger youths. The older Vets and masters racing snakes in the B batch mixing things up with the youths U15's and U17's. And then of course there would be representation from a number of our road teams mixing it up in the A Batch race. Even if you do not think you would want to race, plan your Sunday morning outride so that you can stop and support the guys racing. If you enjoy road cycling, this is certainly fun to watch. There is usually a coffee vendor in the vicinity. This week's distances. C category 30km B category 40km A category 50km The distances are longer than previous events  Last time there was a coffee vendor and ambulance present, Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling :) Enter on the day. https://www.facebook.com/groups/553135972724044/permalink/972103410827296/ Go to Event Page.
