Why should the buyer carry all the risk.

Hence me saying a chain like CycleLab is ideal. They can offer various options for different pricing options with different SLA's attached. They probably already move goods between stores, these items can then just hitch a ride.

no bike shop will be interested in a used market... it also opens up the shop to risk with regard to disputes and possible legal action!!

Small items should be straight forward purchase.

Big items if you are nervous get them checked.

 

I have sold carbon mtbike tubulars and had them assessed for a buyer at his cost.

 

i have bought and sold many items and not had any issues as i have discussed everything with the other party involved.

 

The 50% payment option would never work and if someone said that to me i would turn down the sale.

 

The onus is on the buyer as everything sold is secondhand is voetstoets unless the seller specifically negates any damages/defects.
