Problem is...its a titan, whatever you buy it for today you will sell it at a huge loss tomorrow as their high end bikes have no resale value. And a 5 year warranty where most other brands have a lifetime warranty..too many of their older carbon frames have had issues in the past...sorry, but I will pass..

Someone that tall and weighing 150kg should not ride a xc bike. He will do one or two rides and be put off cycling completely. I would say a minimum of 120mm travel on the fork, but would prefer 140mm so as to get the bars higher. Most trail bikes will be able to handle his weight, for training and casual riding. XC Bike will be very aggressive and will put a huge amount of strain on his hands, wrists. neck and lower back.

Your biggest challenge will be suppliers, and a bike brand or two. Believe me, if you have one or more active shops in your area, you will not be supplied. Some bike shop owners will literally threaten suppliers to keep them from supplying you. Its also very difficult to get a bike brand, as they will not supply you if there is a dealer of that brand anywhere near your location. Small bicycle shops are closing at a very high rate and unless you have a few bar to spend, you will be wasting time and money. That part is causing lots of issues as its one of the causes for a creaking shimano rear hub. It also has to be installed correctly. Go on youtube and search for creaking shimano rear hub.

Also having issues with ratings where I was contacted directly via cellphone, now I am unable to rate person as there is no visible messages between myself and buyer on the hub...

I added my bike on to my King Price insurance, and I had to claim after having the bike insured for about a year. The claim was paid out and settled in 8 days. I am super happy with King Price bike insurance.

Rudi, prepare yourself as Trek bearings are extremely expensive. Problem no1 is that you can only get Trek components from Trek dealers and no other bike shop. Many of Trek bearings are unique and although they carry the same code they sometimes differ as the inner race is wider than normal. I have paid up to R350 per bearing. They do make some good looking bikes, however.... Mamy of the large manufacturers now offer their carbon bike with a lifetime warranty. Paying R107k for a titan, that i will never do as they hold very bad resale value.

Huge stock problems in the bicycle industry, especially in the kids ranges and low to mid range bikes. High end bikes are in stock all over. Parts are a huge nightmare, as its becoming very difficult to find basic items. To top it all off, companies like cool heat and cape cycles (Shimano and Sram importers) have blocked several overseas websites like Chain Reaction cycles, so you are even unable to order from them. Maybe the competition commission should look into this.

Pyga has great products but their current way of trading isnt great. Friend of mine bought a Pyga and waited more than 2 weeks for the bike.

In fact, should shopping malls not then be limted to 50 people only..if you have people spread accros a 33km area, surely you cannot compare that to having thousands in a closed mall.

This is unfortunately why many bike shops refuse to support asg. They trade unethically to the point that they would offer the same item that a bike shop sells, at less than what the bike shop actually paid for the item. Bike shops couldnt make any money on their product, as they would sell certain things direct to clients below our cost.thats why they opened a shop and mainly sells direct now.

So according to my knowledge Hullabaloo were looking at changing the local sales model of RM completely. As a retailer you had to do an upfront order for the following year, and commit to the stock you ordered. Now as a retail shop to carry that kind of risk is impossible as you had to get specific models and sizing correct, otherwise you would sit sit with the stock. I think thats where the RM brand in South Africa failed. Sad story, awesome bike.
