Admin please check the scam activity of a user called Faez. (I'm reporting my own post, so you can see this thread)

He is clearly trying to get members of the community to deposit cash for a bogus entry to the CTCT.

Hi all,

While the Cycle Tour does offer "bond" entries to charities and corporates, I'm not familiar with the rules and protocol in terms of selling / pricing entries etc.

However, even if a legitimate activity this user's approach was inappropriate and just spam. As a result the account has been suspended.

I have contacted the Cycle Tour team for their input on the matter.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi all,

Just a follow up and official response from the Cycle Tour office.

The user selling these entries via PM has been banned due to the spam as well as the suspicious activities.

Please see the response from the Cycle Tour below:

In terms of entries for the Cape Town Cycle Tour, Corporate Group or Charity entries are not allowed to be sold privately, and the only way to secure someone else’s entry is by means of the official substitution process which takes place in February each year.  Cyclists looking to ride next year’s event should ensure they are not taken advantage of in terms of trying to secure illegal entries.  No cyclist will be allowed to ride on another person’s name or number, and the only way entries can be given to another rider is through the official substitution process.  Riders found guilty of selling illegal Cycle Tour entries could face banning from the Cape Town Cycle Tour.
