Here's my last RaceKing #sadface Broke by the bead. Had to limp home after some gorilla tape and cable ties held it together. About 900km on the tyre. Non-Protection version. 2.2 29" on a Stans Flow Rim. 2bar pressure and I'm 98kg.

I love the tyre so I've put a new one one again. Let's see how it goes.

Let me add to an old thread.

Recently "had" to fit a Puregrip X-King, the X-King Protection that was fitted to the front had seen another early demise.

Much to my surprise upon closer inspection this was a totally new Puregrip tyre. The compound feels different, the markings on the sidewalls are different (even marked ebike ready) and has new sidewall protection added. Did some research and it seems as if Conti launched a complete new range late in 2018.

My plan was to replace the Puregrip tyre with something more "premium" soonest possible; it has now been in place for some time and it is really such a nice tyre that I'll use it until the end of its life. It has more feel that the Conti Protection that was on the front and I could actually come down a bit in pressure for more grip. It came through the Bezhoek Extreme with hardly any sign of use.

Still under 1,000km of use, but for now things are looking positive.
