Wasn't really in the mood to turn my knobblies into slicks, so bought a cheap set - you can pick them up for next to nothing. I dont see the point of expensive slicks..PLUS - you get to fiddle before and after with your wheels, checking that the sealant is all topped up etc. Then the progression happened..Year 1 - MTB with slicksYear 2 - Borrowed a mates road bikeYear 3 - Bought a road bike
RastaMan Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I guess it dependsIf you don't have tubeless then slicks are easy to change it If you do have a tubeless conversion I wouldnt bother to change. On my first 94.7 I did it on a Fuji 29er Mtb with slicks and managed a 3:36 so a good time is possible

Edition 507 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Use nobblies. You can then gooi onto pavements, through potholes and even ride over the slow riders in front of you without concern for a puncture!
