The route traverses the magnificent natural surroundings of the town - Ride the coolth of the indigenous forest single tracks under the massive 400 year old yellowwood trees - Garden Route National Park, Harkerville red route, Jubilee Creek, Petrus-se-brand and Homtini. Then conquer the vast openness through to the Outeniqua mountains behind Barrington … and finish daily riding alongside the pristine Knysna Lagoon to the race village extraordinaire: Quay Four at Thesen Island Harbour Town.The 5th edition of the event in 2015 will embrace a similar route as last year, with the addition of an optional shorter route on Day 1 and Day 2 for those not as keen on the Epic distances. Over the tent thing? This is Knysna ... there is accommodation to suit everyone. Do your warm-up ride from your B&B, luxury hotel or backpackers to the start at Quay 4 lagoon–side race village. In 2015, day 2 starts in Rheenendal again. Enjoy a cup of coffee and a rusk, before the days' adventure begins and brace yourself for some MTB PROPER! A complimentary AVIS shuttle will take you back after the day’s ride to collect your vehicle. Limited to 500 riders only. Race entry fees: R 7300 for a team of 2. Solo riders R 3960.
