Hi everyone can u please tell me if it's safe to buy a secondhand carbonfibre mtb i've checked the bike and it's still in a good condition,but i'm not sure....any advise please

All my MTB's have been 2nd hand and I've had no issues what so ever. But for my own peace of mind I've take out insurance on the replacement value of the bike just incase.

Just check the frames integrity.

If the wheels and/fork are carbon then check those too.

Everything else can be changed.

Probably a good idea to take someone along who knows better.

 

Anything carbon with so much as a hairline crack is pretty much useless.

Check out the person selling it as well. Ask him if there are any issues that he has had or why he is selling it.

 

Shouldn't be an issue if its a reputable source that you know and trust.

 

Pay him a small deposit and take it for a ride - then take it to a bike shop for evaluation....
