JanvdW Posted February 4, 2015 Share Would like to see the route profiles before I enter.at Mankele last year the Half Marathon had over 1500m elevation gain over 37km, while the Marathon had a bit over 1600m elevation gain over 63km

Profile is deceiving last year the first half of the marathon was 1000m of climbing (to the top according to the profile) then another 1000m of climbing down to the finish
ACM Posted February 4, 2015 Share What's worse... Sabie marathon or Barberton marathon? Did Barberton last week. Get the feeling from doing SabieX that the Sabie marathon is going to be tougher than Barberton.

johanpre44 Posted February 4, 2015 Share Pretty sure we did not climb that much last year, according to Strava it was about 1300 (that's with elevation corrections which tends to make the figure worse than it really is).
JanvdW Posted February 4, 2015 Share At least it won't be as tough as Mankele, but should be a bit tougher than Barberton (IMHO)I am doing the 45km..
JanvdW Posted February 4, 2015 Share At least (according to accuweather) there is not a high probability for rain on the weekend of 21st and 22nd Feb. Lets hope they are right this time.
