HAKAHANA TRAILS

There is a big difference between a XC race bike and something like that. XC Race bikes are designed to be light weight. The all mountain bikes are designed to be stronger and take a lot of travel, normally more than 100mm, and when you need more that 100mm travel is when things are getting more serious.

What I am trying to say is that that hardtail was designed to do stuff like that! Most Hardtails in SA isn't designed for that kind of terrain.

Rode a mate's hardtail trail bike (140mm forks)at Hakahana yesterday and I must say its super hard work but also super fun. I would recommend it highly, just make sure you have a strong bike... or arnt going that fast :)

Only an idiot would loan you a bike for shredding downhill trails at Hakahana. :P

Looks awesome! Definitely in! Only question is fullface helmet or xc helmet? Cleats or flats?

I would recommend a ride at Hakahana before the event to check it out.

Any of the above are good, depends what you are most comfortable with.

I have ridden Hakahana with a full face a few times but that's just because I fall on my face and break lids. ALLOT! A full face lid isn't fun on the transitions though...

All 28 guys who test rode it appeared to cope well with trail lids. Cleats and flats both work. My personal preference is flats as none of the stages have any climbing.

I am currently trying to make a plan to come ride on the 29th all the way from Tzaneen / Limpopo. Not sure if it will work out.... If it does, anyone knows if it would be possible to test ride the main features Friday pm?
