Nanny state 101

 

This is why I wish I did live in Oz. It's a case of Nanny state vs our Guvermunt 

 

They have respect for the law, and consequences for breaking said laws. It's a no-brainer.

 

I love Oz, would move there tomorrow if I could.

There is still the same amount of motorist vs. cyclist vitriol in Aus, as here. The upside is its mostly hot air and you're also much less likely to be taken out whilst cycling, less likely to have your bike stolen and less likely to be mugged when out on your own.

IMHO a nanny state attitude is what this country desperately needs. The majority of people don't possess the ability to police themselves.

 

I was (un)fortunate enough to catch a few minutes of the parliament channel in my hotel room while away on business recently and the only problem that I can see is finding suitably qualified Nannies......

And much more likely to see a conviction with jail time for someone who kills a cyclist, jogger or pedestrian.
