  1. Agreed, I'm getting so damn depressed reading about everyone leaving, and I have to stay here (for now anyway)
  2. I call BS on this. I've ridden in the Cradle for years, including a year with the Labrats, and never once have I had any issue with a lab group, or seen an incident involving them pushing someone off their bike. There are 3 sides to every story, and this one definitely needs the third version to be told.
  3. I Like it. It's an uncomplicated, clean look.
  4. It will be interesting to see if they release details of the actual number of entries received through the ballot process. If they do, my guess is it won't be as many as suspected. IMO the ballot process is going to significantly reduce the amount of non Western Cape entries to this event. I know I won't bother entering again, and many Jhb riders I've spoken to feel the same way.
  5. OK, you got me. My eyesight is several decades old, and definitely not what is should be So it's 20 and 25's for the youngsters, 510 and up for the toppies.
  6. I hear you, but in practice how easy is it going to be, for example, to use the navigation feature on that tiny display? I'm sure they will sell lots, and from a marketing point of view it's spot on, because people will buy it for the advertised features, realise after a short time that the display limits the functionality, and upgrade to 510's etc. Garmin wins whichever way you look at it.
  7. Reading through all the ra-ra-ra posts above, there must be something I'm missing. Unless they are really cheap, I don't see the point of these units. The display is tiny and they have limited capabilities, clearly aimed at the first time user market. They remind me of the cheapy Sigma and Cateye units. No thanks.
  8. More like a gay bar. Or ladies underwear.
  9. Who..... really.... cares.....????????? Francine doesn't even qualify as a has-been, she's a never-was
  10. +1 Just because you do it, doesn't mean we all do.
  11. This is a really good point. Anything that could possibly hamper the emergency processes going on should not be allowed, and if that means cancelling a cycling race (even a big one), then so be it. Cost to competitors is irrelevant.
  12. Faaarrrkkk that is ugly. What the hell was the designer thinking??
  13. Also true. I forgot about that. So, to summarise, if you ride a road bike with carbon cranks, and don't weigh more than 90kg, the Garmin is for you. For the remaining 95% of cyclists, get the Stages.
  14. Very true, but given that alu cranks outnumber carbon by a huge percentage, it's unlikely to result in massive sales for Garmin.
  15. So the thinking here is that if Stages can do it, then so can Garmin? This is a case of closing the stable door once the horse has bolted. Stages is lighter, doesn't have a "rider weight limit" (what's with that anyway?), it's cheaper, and it doesn't get damaged in a crash. Garmin 0, Stages 1.
  16. No comment from Mr Mulebar? He had lots to say in the previous thread.
  17. My latest Cannondale...
  18. I've shortened all of mine, no problems. Loosen wire on board, cut to size, resolder. It will obviously invalidate your warranty
  19. Yes, I have something else. You make a point of saying that you are not involved with Dark Horse Wheels. Nobody had asked at that stage. You claim you did a name search and for whatever reason their name didn't come up. Your first statement proves that you knew of their existence, no matter what the name search did or didn't reveal. Yet you went ahead and used the name anyway. You couldn't just pick up the phone and ask them before pulling this bully BS? Poor form imo. Pisspot poor.
  20. You are being way too kind. Flame me if you will, but I don't believe their past performance was unassisted. After 2012/13 with all the questions being asked about doping and other enhancements, my guess is the team sky scientist-doctor-magicians have been told to cut out the (so far undetectable) hot sauce. What we are seeing from sky now is the real thing, on real legs that really hurt.
  21. Getting measured etc is all good and well, works for some and will definitely work for the credit card machine in the Specialized store, But, If you want the right saddle, go to a store or bike fitter that allows you to take a saddle for a short test period and actually ride with it, and have an option to exchange it if it's not right. Remember, what feels good after 5 minutes in the shop might not be so great after 100ks. Everyone's butt is different.

    D2D 2014

A dangerous start (neutralised downhill, yeah right), then fast and flat, with a bump or two at the end. The D2D has lost it's teeth, it's now a ride for the limp, lazy and unfit.
  23. No problem. BS is BS, some may believe it, I don't. Anyone who wants to bring on the heat is welcome.
