Does anyone know where you can buy a Hope Pro 2 Free Body on-line in SA?

After 10,000 km, my alloy original has been chowed by the steel cassette frame. So is the steel freebody a better option than the alloy? It is 60 grammes heavier...about the same as 2 smallish gulps of water! Appreciate any first-hand comments on the steel option.

I switched to steel after stripping the alu freewheel body on 3 diff gears riding SS on a stage race last year.

Got the steel body and no problems yet - havent opened it up to take a look either - havent done huge amount of riding on it yet - prob a 1000km.

I can not tell you that I `notice` the diff in weight but I prefer durability over weight anyday - plus Im just under 90kg.

My LBS ordered the body from Intl Trade in Jhb - Jason is the guy there.

Think they are at www.intltrade.co.za

They dont `like` dealing with the public much but they did help me out when I needed it.

`Hope` that helps.

Yeah my freehub is the steel version as its an SS/Trials hub.

My rear wheel has seen tens of thousands of KM's as it was a friend of mines before me and it is still 200%.

I dont know what area you are in but as Vinny said your LBS should be able to get it from Jason otherwise you can try yourself.

Jason is no longer with Int Trade.... you can find him at the Trailhead - right opposite Fratelli's
