That GT is a cool bike as a start off dude

Dont worry about its "looks" in the picture - they are good ... I had a Carbon one for years - 2010 till 2 months ago

They climb and descend well!

100% Nige. The GT is a winner here. Great suspension design and it's an xl. Yiu don't get many of those 2nd hand at that price. Do it!

ive got a gt force... but it has some strange suspension mounting that supposedly lowers the bb and slackens the head angle. it also has a 160mm fork, which hightens the bb and slackens the head angle.

also it has a different length shock, so i dunno if it still has 150mm of travel at the back.

so im not sure if my opinion on the force is that valid, but it seems pretty good to me.

Nige is right on the Commencal, you want 140mm+ for enduro, but also need to look at geometry, things like a slack head angle are more suited to gravity riding.

I'm sure Andrew will get back to you soon - they have the funny sizes left in some of the NOS (new old stock). I'd also recommend Meta AM 5.5 (5.5 is the inches of travel).

I had a GT Force and really enjoyed it, I just had to rebuild the I-Drive often as it creaked after a few hard rides - it was the carbon version.

Just for interest sake - read this on the 2015 GT Sanction, http://www.pinkbike.com/news/gt-sanction-review-2014.html

its been built purely for enduro and they weren't shy to admit that that's all, in other words you could get other bikes that are better to pedal, climb etc, but this one is pure enduro. See how long the front end is, 30mm stem, this is where I think Enduro bikes are headed in terms of design.

Best of luck, do your research and make an informed decision!

Thanks Cube!

Do you guys know of more shops that NOS(New old stock, demos) bikes?

You can try Obikes as well, they had some 2012 stock.

To be honest I think that the whole industry has advanced so much in terms of geometry etc in the last few years, that's the only thing I'd take to mind. But bang for buck that looks like a deal, XT hubs, DT swiss rims, XT parts here and there, plus a carbon swingarm! My mate bought the 2011 Meta AM and loves it, I was surprised at how light it is.

You cant even buy a decent groupset for that kind of money!! The nice thing is you can enjoy it, and then upgrade the frame at a later stage and move all those parts over to the next build.

Good luck!
