Shimano / SRAM drive chain mix

Hi Hubbers

 

May be a silly question. Money is tight at the moment, andI am finding SRAM pricing is getting rediculous. Qusetion is, if I have  a 10 speed SRAM chainring, cluster and rear derailure, can one put on  a cheaperanother make of 10 speed chain i.e. Shimano or another without doing  long term damage to the main bits.

No problem. I have been running SRAM chains with my Shimano setup for years.

Shimano chains rock, I'm running SRAM Cassette and RD with FRM chainring, no issues with XT chain.

Ybn 10-speed chains at Rapide, 2 for R429, probably the best priced chain in Sa and good quality from my experience with Ybn chains.

My bike came with Force as standard and it had a Dura Ace chain. I ride with Ultegra chains and no issues. Can't imagine MTB being any different either.
