Fox DOSS Lever

I have a Fox DOSS dropper post...

I love the fact that it has a set, interim 40mm drop and a full drop (which I hardly use).  Furthermore, it does not have any sideways play after more than a year of use and has not failed (yet!).  My previous Reverb failed on both these accounts.

But the lever is unbelievably cumbersome.  It is fine when using a 1x setup (left side, under bar), but I often have to go 2x for longer, steeper trips eg Lesotho.  On top of the bar often catches foliage and clothes and you need to take your thumb over the top of the bar and potentially faceplant. Under the bar, inside to the front shifter is not great.  It works ok, but is cumbersome and ugly.

Question:  Has anyone modified a DOSS lever to be more practical?  Any suggestions?  Jared Graves modded a front gear shifter, but remember I already run a shifter with my 2x setup.

Thanks

These posts seem to be ridiculously reliable, that lever is great in terms of functionally but what were they thinking making it so big and cumbersome. Apart from using a shifter you probably screwed on options, even the reverb lever is a bit of a fiddle to fit in amongst shifters

The new CTD lever might work, depending on how much cable it takes up. Not cheap, but better than that carbuncle of a thing that comes standard...

I have "made a plan"... and it works.  I firstly filed off the large silver lever and then the black stopper tab.  So I now use the smaller, black lever for both settings (mid- and full drop) and to extend the post.  It requires a bit more finesse to press the lever halfway (for mid drop), but a couple of practice runs and I've mastered it.

Yes, can reach it.  It is further outward than before.  Need to be so far inboard to be able to accommodate the arc/radius of the lever before hitting the shifter.
