Cascades: open or not?

It's always open...a bit overgrown and rutted in places..but on the whole ok. You also may have to use your internal compass a bit as there are not really any markings. Might be easier to head over to howick or karkloof for well marked trails

Cascades pretty wet and slippery at the moment - currently raining again. It isn't for the faint hearted either - basically up or down. No flat sections. I believe work has started on the overgrown sections but the constant rain here is making that difficult. I also wouldn't advise it if you don't know your way around. No markings and many trails in a small area can make things a bit confusing.

Howick trails hold up very well in the rain. May be a little slippery but won't be washed out. Karkloof tends to get a little washed out but is still very rideable and lots of fun. Start at the club and head out on the 30km loop for a good all round trail. You can branch off/ add on from there.

Enjoy.

As Stretch says...Cascades open but summertime growth is a constant job. Lower sections probebly the most cleared as they ridden quite often but personally, at this time of year, Howick/Karkloof is my first choice

Raining at the moment s expect a bit of slip n slide but hey...this is MTBiking ;)
