Well as far as I know you don't get a fine for disobeying the trails signs(correct me if I'm wrong) so the warning signs are exactly that, warnings. If u choose to obey or disobey you need to live with the consequences and not be surprised if a decending rider gets pissed at you for ruining his line. At the end of the day why not take the longer scenic route around to the top of fire trail? Not much climbing and the view rocks!

If you ignore the signs and cause an accident with another rider they may be able to hold you liable for any damage / medical expenses. I have on occasion abandoned a ride with guys that thought that the rules do not apply to them to do my own thing. I really can't get why people feel the need to endanger others out there with deliberate ignorance of rules designed to make the trail experience a safe and enjoyable one for everyone.

G, you ride out there a lot more than me... those no entry signs are strict no entry for ascending, correct? Just a bit confusing to have that and then a watch out for descending riders right above it.

I don't ride up the trails, cos I'm never sure and would rather err on the side of the no entry than potentially break the rules and endanger those descending

I agree that it is confusing, but my rule is if I am unsure, I err on the side of caution. Hopefully the signage will be updated to either say descending riders have right of way or for DH use only.

Guys, I rode the bottom loop yesterday and almost collected a tandem going like hell and swerving across the road to avoid the bumps. As far as I can see, the route around that road is anti-clockwise, no? Am I right?

I reckon I must have passed 20 riders going the opposite way.

Seems rules just aren't obeyed.
