My wife and I have relocated from Gauteng to Cape Town recently. I am trying to help out my wife who has completed x4 argus and 94.7s (sub 4/5 hr) by finding her a ride partner of similar ability and experience to allow her to grow at her own pace both the road and MTB riding. Anyone who has ideas / suggestions from in and around the Milnerton, Table View area please let me know. Cheers. Pete

Google the outriders. Awesone club for all level riders. Rodney beck is the best guy to speak to.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a ladies-specific group-ride facebook page. Contact hubber cleatsncleavage in that regard. She might be of better assistance than my vague recollection.

Hi Pete

Welcome to the Cape. Sure you will love it here.

Try looking these groups up on Facebook: The Ladies Mtb Social Group and then MTB Earth Chicks - the latter being a group of really awesome women in their 30s and early 40s. PM me if you would like the "leader's" details. I found the Earth Chicks at Meerendal after a solo ride one afternoon a year ago and they took me in and made me super welcome. They have riders of all different ability so sure your wife will find someone to ride with. They often do 4pm Wednesday rides on Tygerberg trails.

Im moving to Bedfordview in Feb so if you have any road and MTB contacts out that way, please repay the favour :) Rode Suikerbosrand this morning and it was pretty cool I must say.

Hello Ms Cleats and Cleavage and thanks for the heads up: a great help for sure :-) we were based more in the northern suburbs of Jhb so can't advise of clubs that side I'm afraid. Nevertheless, the usual suspects of Cycle Lab remain a big draw and for sure Germiston has the well known Germiston Wheelers for road. Modderfontein is well worth checking out for off-road. Northern Farms is a bit of a trek from the east but remains my favourite bumble around the north. It was my base for a Sani and joberg2c so it can't be bad ;-) good luck with your move and hope we meet up before you push on. Cheers, Pete
