I have asked KathF to proof read a mail shot i will send out ... will get back to you ASAP when shes done with it ...

But if you ride from the club ... do the outback trails ...

Jewitts Jive to Gauntlet - (SP2)

- sahara is not in - we go around it ;)

Voodoo Lounge to the lower road (SP3)

- then we are NOT DOING Batoutta Hell - so DONT climb Lebanon ... go up Pressure cooker etc to get to Rennes Rumble ...

Rennes Rumble to where it crosses Campbells Climb (SP1) ...

I think that any people coming from out of KZN should be allowed to do 1 shuttle run on Sat am

Locals can ride up and practice the week before

Peach and Nofearnofun, every time you suggest a change to the rules to suit yourselves, I write the complete opposite into the rules.

Any rider found to be shuttling to practice the enduro stages will be penalized 10 min to their final race time per uplift.

If you want to practice a trail until you know every rock and root, enter a Downhill race.

Please remember that if you are going to shuttle to practice the DH track or any other trails not in the Enduro Race, No vehicles are allowed onto SAPPI land and you have to stay on public roads.

To add to Daves comments ...

We NEED to abide by Sappi Rules or else the event may be canned.

So PLEASE - NO SHUTTLING ON Sappi Roads - (there are some guys who think that its ok to shuttle the roads if you are inside a vehicle - NOT for this event!!) ... These rules came from Sappi and we need to stick to them.

Shuttle the District Road as per the soon to be sent out mailshot and then you ride in from there.

For the DH the shuttle is 5 min and the ride to the start is 10min along a gentle contour road.

IF YOU ARE FOUND SHUTTLING ON SAPPI LAND YOU MAY BE LIABLE FOR PROSECUTION ... SO DONT DO IT!

Everyone should ride it blind those courses should be shut down for anyone to ride.

Okes ... really. ... I know everyone has their own views and thats great. ... But it is what it is and its the decision of the Commission as a whole - not just one person ... So Im sorry but thats just the way we have to work

there are a number of safety issues for running blind - especially with new riders etc.

Marius - are you going to be the one hauled over the coals when someone breaks an arm cus they come in blind into a drop and go OTB??? No ... its the Commissioners and Course Designers who get blamed.

Then - as we are using EXISTING trails ... that we CANT CHANGE ... everyone gets to ride them anyway on ANY GIVEN WEEKEND ...

Yes thats unfair to the JHB guys ... but the JHB guys (NoFear) were hassling me for videos etc last year already for the WHOLE SEASON ...

So whether you are for or against blind riding it is just the way - there are ALWAYS going to be unfair advantages for the locals as they know the trails anyway ... So in Karkloofs case - Even if they are riding them "blind" ... they have ridden the trails on countless weekends in the off season because the trails are open to the public.

The ONLY way true blind stages can be implimented is if they are NEW or the venue is not disclosed till the last minute (and this cant be done) ...

So sorry guys but these points (although valid) are starting to grate my carrot ...

We are busting our arses trying to get you the best experience and season possible and having to read through these chirps all the time are beginning to get tiresome ....

Please - All i ask is that you okes pull in to the event ... have a jol ... have a beer after ... and HAVE FUN ... as thats what it is all about. ...

Thanks - (PS - I dont mean to offend anyone - just getting everyones opinion is sometimes like too many cooks and the broth  ) ....

Cheers

Apologies, from the get go I knew that things were set in stone. I am also very familiar with the Sappi rules. After all we do road trips down to KZN purely to ride the trails at Karkloof.

Any post's I made with regards to rule changes were tongue in cheek.

"hassling you for vid's" - I never meant to hassle or bother you in anyway.

Don't let anyone grate your carrot, they are not worth it. :whistling:

Bring on the 7th and 8th! it is going to be an awesome weekend thanks to all the hard work and personal time put in by yourself, Dave and everyone involved!

Guys there is no need to apologise ... I know this is just chatting on here etc ... and Dave and I try our best to cater for everyone ... No Fear .. its not a bother - I just had to laugh about that.video request ...

What i think okes dont realise is that Dave and I do this for free! and In our spare time and evenings ... Both of us have normal jobs so we do all this over our weekends and evenings.

Now Im not telling you this so that you can feel sorry for us or whatever - we do it because of our passion for the sport and thats awesome enough for us ...

Im saying this so that I dont have a couple of grumpy characters on here asking where the Videos or course profiles etc are when they think they need to watch something ...  :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:     hahahaha

Dave and I try and do these as we feel they help ... if we cant get time to do it ... thats just the way it is ... So whenever we have something ... trust me ... you will be the first to get it ... hahaha

Cheers
