Downtube protector

Howdy, just want to get an idea on what people are using to protect the downtube on your MTB from rock strikes?

I kniw a few of the newer models come with a rubber type guard on there. Are there generic aftermarket versions of these guards?

Helicopter tape works quite well and will take care of most flying stones and gravel. Alternatively chat to BogusOne about making one for you. All you have to do then is tape it down (industrial two sided tape will work) if you don't have a bottle mount down there.

Thanks Iwan, I am planning on getting around to Bogus.

I am aware of the helicopter tape for stone chips, just checking if there is anything to protect the tube (carbon) from a bigger rock strike - the rubber ones seem as though they would absorb the impact a bit better.
