I spoke to a guy at CWC and he says you only get a size 175mm on the XX1. If I want a 170mm they will have to import it ???

Will the extra 5mm really make a difference?

Your input please

The longer the crank, the more "torque" you put out. That's why on Mtb's the standard length is 175mm.

How tall are you?

For my wife's bike actually---She is 1.68m and riding 2x10 with 170mm.

So do you want a 170mm crank because she's currently riding with one, or is there a specific reason?

Have you done a bike setup (such as Ergofit) to establish what she must use?

Reason I'm asking, a friend of mine has been using 175mm cranks on his road bike "cause that's what he likes and have been using for the last 15 years"

He bought a new bike and did a professional setup, and not only did he discover he actually does need the standard on road bikes of 172.5mm, but that his old bike was a size too big for him.

Doubt she will even notice the difference - I am 1.67 and ride 170 and 175 interchangeably - can't notice...

There is no specific reason I am asking about the length---I just did not know that it seems like the standard/general length on a MTB is 175mm. Whether you 1.65m or 1.85m tall ???
