I wasn't too happy with my front derailleur so I tinkered a bit. A bit too much as it turned out, as I couldn't get it back to operational status. Quick trip up to Mellow Velo, me thinking that they're going to be waaay to busy to check out my bike and I was right.....they we're waaay busy. Bikes in all states of disassembly all over the workshop. Serious organised chaos. BUT: No problem dude! Ian checked it over, gave it to Rob and Rob had it smooth as silk in a matter of 10 minutes or so. Time to pay for this sterling service.....BUT: No problem dude. Enjoy your ride tomorrow. No payment necessary. Now THAT is fantastic service and I've just found my new LBS.
Spokey Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Seems a real nice place, friendly staff too. I was in there earlier today for a nose around, first time in that shop, was great, I left with a lekker new set of bars for my bike. I will definitely return.

They sorted out a bib crash replacement with NO saak, threw in some whatwhats, all with a smile, discount and friendliness that is genuine. Attempted same things at CL, and just got the usual CL dismissive BS. Melo actually knows how to merchandise a store, not just stocking a big-@ss warehouse with rubbish that no-one can buy. well done lads - got my business!

Took a frame in in pieces since I stripped it down for a pre sell clean and noted the bearings need replacing. Got giggled at with walking in with 2 pieces of frames and a bag of parts but all in good spirit. Noticed they had a new Silverback Splash 1 on the floor that I've been looking at for my girlfriend. Wanted to surprise her on Valentines, never noticed it was a small and not a medium. Spoke to Wesley on Friday afternoon about the bike, when we figured out it was indeed a small I though no problem, then we can just order one. Nope he said let me check with the partner shops, 10 minutes later got a call back saying he found one and it will be ready saturday morning, I said wait a bit need to confirm girlfriend likes it and it fits and I'd like to get it converted to tubeless, so we'll be in in the morning to check. Don't worry it will be ready. Got there on saturday morning, everything done, one happy girlfriend one happy customer. And best of all, I needed a helmet and some other goodies, got offered everything at the right price, not just the more expensive options. Can thoroughly recommend these guys too. Oh and for anyone considering a bike for the wife, the new Splash is amazing value for money. EDIT: Sorry for the long winded post lol
