Safe Racing

I haven't done any races for a while now. Used to ride in the vets group and found the racing quite safe. Would you say that the seeded groups, especially towards the back, are not as safe with riders of different skills and experience levels being mixed and also worrying maybe don't care attitude type of riding by some individuals?

Same here, use to race vets , but after not much cycling last year did not get licence , was quite nervous after all the threads about crashes but have done two races this year in AL, Serengeti and R4S . Must say R4S was no issues really that we would not have in VB. There is less attacking which means bunch bigger than in VB, but the guys upfront looks like they can ride. In the Serengeti there was a few nervous moments but mainly with guys going to the wrong side of the rode.

I'm in the same position. All that I can say is I need to get my seeding up as soon as possible. The guys in the alphabet soup insist on shouting for people to hold their line, show everyone what they are drinking, pointing out slower riders km's in advance and when they do this wobble all over the road. Scary stuff!

Then if you fall off the bunch, as I am currently want to do, they have no idea how to get a pace-line going. Trying to teach these things on the move is quite challenging. They are want to go off the the front and kill themselves and then bitch because no one want to work.

Hmmmmm, what to say? I think just get fit again...........
