Hi Hubbers

Looking at upgrading my bryton rider 35. Looking at the Garmin 510 and Bryton rider 60 bundles. The Garmin is quite neat touchscreen and can link to android or apple. The bryton also looks neat has maps and colour screen. What do you think is the better option?

Advise will be appriaciated.

I had a Garmin 305 and then a 500 and just recently upgraded to an 810. Absolutely loved every one of them and the 810 is worth the extra coin if you ask me. I haven't used Bryton devices, so can't comment on those.

But the Garmins are really easy to use and have heeaps of cool features; I didn't think Bluetooth would be that big a deal (you don't get it on the 510, IIRC) but in combination with the smartphone app, it is really awesome - as soon as you save your ride on the device, it automatically uploads it to the app and makes it available on Garmin Connect - which I also really enjoy using. Β Helps motivate for training.

I have a bryton rider 60. Love the device, it also has bluetooth to upload your rides. Is has loads of cool stuff, and provides you with alot of info while you ride which is nice. The touch screen is also great, can be used with gloves on. I found that the navigation on it is not great, the routes that it calculates is a bit weard at times and I do not like the computer software that you need to use to plot a route. Another big down side(for me) is the fact that it does not show you ride average and trip average at the same time, you have to go into the settings and choose one. I did a 24h race with it, the nice thing is it charges quickly with a powerbank, and it does not switch off when you charge it mid ride. I have never used a garmin, so I can not comment on it, but I think the garmin 810 would be a better buy.
