  1. Does anyone have the start times of all the batches, or a link where I can get it please?
  2. Does anyone have a 116k entry that I can buy, I am desperate need of one, PLEASE.
  3. Thanks, that also helps a lot, and no, there is not a snowball's chance in hell that he will buy an ebike.
  4. I am also trying to convince him of this, and am somewhat there with the argument, hence the question. He will remove me from the will if I convince him to spend R50k on a road bike and its uncomfortable as hell, and he is way shorter then me, so I can't take it over.
  5. Ok so the gravel bike sounds like a good idea. One of his problems were/is he is retiring soon, and when on holidays he is probably going to need a mtb, so the gravel bike sounds like a good comparison, because he is not going to go and ride serious trails.
  6. Hi My dad is looking too buy a new or second hand road bike. I do not have a ton of knowledge or experience with road bikes. He is 62 years old, relatively fit and 1.7m, so he is not looking to buy the fastest and stiffest bike available. I had a look at the classifieds, and some of the bikes look amazing, but comfort is my main issue, and also 11spd drivetrain. I do not know what the bikes are designed for, more TT or for climbing, and surely that will make a difference, sort of trail bike vs xc monster kind of thing. Some advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
  7. This is probably too late, but here goes. I have ran in Asics Nimbus and loved them, but that was a few years back. Then I got the Brooks Glycerin 13. I loved them, so then I had the 14 and now the 15. I have loved them all, but the 15 is just amazing. I gat a pair of Nike Vomero 12 just to rest the Brooks a bit. It is a great shoe, but I find it a bit more narrow. They Glycerin is lighter, but for some reason the Vomero feels more "race a 10k" shoe for me. First impressions, the Brooks are LIGHT YEARS ahead, but as time went by I started to like them more. The Glycerin 15's are still by far the superior shoe in my opinion, and will probably replace them before Comrades with the 16's. My running partner loves the Pegasus range, and I have only heard great reviews of them. The Ghost is to my knowledge also a remarkable shoe and a bit cheaper than the Glycerin. If price is not an issue I would say go for the Brooks. I can also say the Nike Vomero is great, especially at that price. I can not comment on the Pegasus but heard great things. The nikes feel overall a bit more snugg. On durability I can vouch for the Brookd. I am on my firts Nikes so I do not know how they will hold up. All said, go for the Glycerin of Ghost, but the Pegasus is the safe bet and good all rounder. O and the upper on the Glycerin 15 is out off this world, can not even compair it to anything I have tried on.
  8. It has also been a big dream of mine to do this race, but I honestly can not compete with this. Please help this dude.
  9. I also did Deloitte yesterday. I have a bad relationship with that race, and yesterday my stomach gave in on me. What was that yellow/orange stuff in the sachets? Tasted like orange juice. I was very hot and just grabbed one that was very nice and cold and could not resist, but payed for it about 10 min later. It is still one of my favorate races up here. Just as a side note, does anyone have a Om die Dam entry that they want to part with? Wow all of the ultra races sold out fast this year. It did not bother me, I thought it was just new years resolutions, but it looks like people are holding on too the entries. Apparently ultra running is the new mid life crisis. Of you look at how many 100 miler we got now compaired to 2 years ago, wow.
  10. I am prepairing for the full ironman next year and my coach said i must stay away from weight training. I did a fast google search and found a few that specificaly relate too swimming. Whats your guys take on combining weights with cycling, swimming, running?
  11. Hi guys, any new info on the coral wetsuite? I currently have a 2xu but i stuggle too breath in it? How does 2xu compair to orca?
  12. I would rather hide it up my ass then go anywhere without it.
  13. Not something i am willing to answer on a public forum, but it is much easier than you think.
  14. The only way that you are going to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Good luck to you if you try and dissarm or protect yourself with a batton or pepper spray in a gun fight.
  15. Interesting topic this. When i spin at the gym i am around 90rpm, but on my bike i am on 80rpm. Would be nice if someone that has been cycling for a while could way in.
  16. All good advice. I found running helps the lungs, which is interchangeble between the sports. As mentioned, start slow and short. Everyone has this thing that running is so cost efective, untill you over do it and the physio bills start rolling in. Invest in PROPER shoes,be it trail running shoes or road shoes. Be ware of the so called informed sales people at shops like sportsmans, rather pay R200 more for the right fit and shoe at a running specific shop. Running is very addictive sport, so be ware.
  17. I am looking for new trail shoes. I currently run with Brooks glyserin 13(road), and need to replace my trail(asics). My mom has Brooks trail shoes but she is not impressed. Also want to add that i am not buying Solomons. Any good advise for the best natural long distance trail shoe?
  18. I doubt that anyone that has a firearm is stupid enough to try and mount it on the bike. P.S. its called gun oil.
  19. On a large vipa and 183cm you will have too get a zero setback seatpost and maby look at a shorter stem. Have one of your experienced riding buddies have a look at your setup, but definitely start at a zero setback seatpost. I needed one at 185cm.
  20. Sorry a bit of a high jack, but i am in the same boat. Is there like a bike hire place?
