While I generally like to support the local indusrty this is onw component you save quite a bit by importing.  The German stores are good, you could get this Reverb delivered inc duty and fees for less than 3.5K.

and KS options a bit cheaper.

Best price locally for the Reverb I think is Booth bikes at 4,250.  http://www.carbon29er.com/rockshox-reverb/

I have the Command post and very happy with it, although it's showing some play now after a year.  I think the mid position is a smidging too high, and the low postion so low I never use it, but hey.  The ball-busting return you get used to.  I like the idea of mechanical rather than hydraulic for reliability and cheaper servicing.

The Command Post is great! I have not tried any other though, but droppers in general are great. I reduced my post's air pressure to 15PSI, if I remember correctly, takes a bit of the edge off. It is very reliable after 1 year of use.

I would stick to droppers that have the same set back as the Spez posts though. The last thing you would want to do is to shorten your reach and then have to go longer stem.........not Enduro. Or you can compensate with wiiiider bars.......legit Enduro.

You can get the Reverb stealth at Chainreaction and Bike24 for about R 4300.00. I've been told that we don't have to pay import tax on bicycle parts. Not sure if this is true? What are the hidden charges buying a dropper post on line?

"Hidden" costs: VAT, customs clearing and DHL shipping because the post office makes it impractical lately to rely on normal shipping. VAT 14%, clearing around R150, shipping around R350.

I am also looking at buying one for my Camber I think what will sway me is Reverb is about R2K more expensive was offered the Command for 3.5K cannot bring myself to spending 6K on a Reverb dropper post

Im also in the market for dropper post. Did you buy the spez dropper post and are you happy with it, or is the Reverb Stealth a better buy?

Up until recently

Up until recently I had a Reverb, Command Post, and Command Post IR.

The Reverb is smoother and more refined, and it most definitely is useful having "infinite" levels available, but the Command is not a bad post at all. Between the Reverb and Command Post SRL remotes, it's a toss-up. I think the ergonomics are better on the SRL, but the PushLoc on the Reverb has that buttery hydraulic feel. The normal Command Post remote is definitely a step down.

The Reverb doesn't get affected by cable wear, but it requires bleeding from time to time, so a tie on that front as well.

Overall, it's difficult to pick between a Reverb Stealth and Command Post IR (with SRL), but if I had a gun against my head I'd go with the Reverb...

Ive had my Command for 3 years now and absolutely love it. The three position settings work for me, as I know exactly where the seat will be every time I use the dropper. Cable mechanism hasn't given any issues. As mentioned in a previous post and others here, be aware that it returns at speed when lifting the seat....
