Hi fellow hubbers.

I need some help with my bike setup. I have a Giant Anthem X with a monarch RT3 shock fitted. In order to get the right sag of 20% i need to pump the shock 275+ psi. The max as indicated is 275 psi. I must agree i am heavy weighing 100 kg.

So the questions are:

Is there something wrong with the shock?

Is pumping the shock to its max normal?

Will it still improve as the shock is still new?

Is 20% sag the best setup for xc/open roads?

It says MM on the side of the shock if that helps.

I appreciate all your inputs.

Regards

Yep. Not unheard Of.

Get yourself some volume spacers for it. Us heavy blokes need them.

RockShox run much lower press oppose to Fox

I use to run 190 psi on my Spearfish - same bike - 250psi on RP23.

Check the manufactures recommendations.

Nice blanket statement there... my fox is running 300psi in the main chamber.

It's all down to the volume of the canister. Rp23 was most likely a boost valve variety or one with higher volume than the RS you had.
