DH GT Fury Questions

Hi All

*Not sure if this is the correct forum section, sorry if not.

I have some silly questions, but I hope someone with some knowledge regarding the GT Fury’s can help me please. I want to buy a GT Fury 1.0 alloy?

What is the difference between the 1.0 and 3.0 alloy frame?, I can’t find any differences on the net, I’m assuming it’s the different year model maybe 2012/2013?

Also I’m very concerned about the size of the medium frame, I’m only a wee 174cm / 5.7feet, the info on the net says the frame is slightly smaller then most DH bikes, is this correct? im hoping the medium frame will fit me then, as I also have a Trance x medium, any thoughts on this would be great?

I know a guy who burnt through omnico's entire stock of those frames, destroying everything from the plastic bearings and bushings in the linkages to pushing dents in the frame where the shock mounts the front triangle just by riding it

You must be talking about Mr Shred (as he was once known)

They had issues with the downtube being too thin for the shock mounts but this has been sorted since as I understand.

Mine had a small crack at that spot, but a good TIG weld sorted it out.

Weird how the guy I know that wins IXS races on this exact same frame never had a failure.

That's his story and he's sticking to it. At least until the warranty's been honoured :whistling:
