new GT Force 1.0 build

Hi,

Firstly I am new to this forum and if this post is placed in the wrong place, I am sorry.

I started building my new 2013 GT Force 1.0 frame last year  and have been busy getting all the components for it ever since. I am getting to the end now.

I need to find out if someone else on the forum has a GT Force 1.0 frame in Medium size.

I am looking to get a Fox DHX 5.0 rear shock for my bike BUT I am unsure if it will fit into the frame without touching anywhere.

I saw a fellow rider selling his GT Force 1.0 in the classifieds but that is a large frame.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Shane

I have to say this Shane. Your thread is useless without pics.

OK, Take two.

I would like to know if this DHX 5.0 will fit into this frame?

I have this exact  frame in Medium size.

Has anyone put this shock onto a frame like this or have any info if it can be done.

Thanks

You have to check the eye to eye of the shock, I know the DHX come in 200mm eye to eye. Just take a look at the stroke of the shock, as it can affect the frame geometry. The other thing, you don't actually need a DHX for that frame you can use a normal fox rear shock with a boost valve. The frame will break before the shock break.

The DHX is available in the same size as the standard RP23 that the frame is intended for, that is 7,5 X 2.0

I know that this shock would be overkill but thought the damping would be better on this shock.
