It is for my father law. He is 1.8m and 120kg. We will be doing mainly trails. With the odd competition here and there of between 20 and 40 km. We do +- 150 to 200 km a week. Any opinions and advice on the bike would be appreciated. Or should he rather go for the silverback sola 4 . Thanks Louis

Hi Louis

This is the exact bike I bought last December to get myself back into cycling. I am 1.8m and was 100kg when I bought the bike, (now 90kg, he says proudly)

To date I've ridden over 500 kilometres on the bike without an issue. At least two thirds of that has been on the trails at Modderfontein. There are a few things I am going to change, out of personal preference, such as moving to cleats as I now feel ready to take that step, as well as upgrading the cassette and possibly the brakes, and I am putting ESI grips on as I don't like the factory ones.

Apart from those personal choices, I absolutely love the bike, can see myself riding it for a long time to come still, and would personally recommend it for your dad in law, especially if he is going to be using it for trails and occasional races as you say.

Great bike, might need to look at upgrading the wheelset at some point due to rider weight but this all depends on the terrain and style of riding you going to be doing.
