I can't wait to see the in-depth stats. Age break down will be quite interesting as will SA based or overseas and most popular bikes.

 

As far as I can remember the 40 - 55 age bracket was the busiest last year. Could be wrong though.

Seriously... the level of riders has increased dramatically... another hubber alluded to this fact. too. RESPECT!!

I think you are hitting the nail on the head. I finished my 3rd (and last) on Sunday.

 

I was much, much better prepared. We did do a lot better place wise. All that said of the 3 this year was the hardest by a long shot. Routes are one thing but weather plays a big role and luck. A easier day suddenly becomes a hard one if the wind blows.

 

Equipment are also getting much better. Not only bikes but wheels, tyres and even things like sealant and plugs.

 

I don't think guys underestimate this anymore. You can see the guys are fit and well prepared.

 

I have never seen so many Specialized bikes. This year I think it will be more than 40%, and mostly Epic SWORKS.
